What is Commercial Grade Dedication CGD?
Commercial Grade Dedication Services (CGD Services) is a process that allows a commercial grade item (CGI) to be designated for use as a basic component suitable for use in a nuclear power plant and will perform its intended safety function. As such, the commercial grade item is considered equivalent to an item designed and manufactured under a 10 CFR Part 50, Appendix B, nuclear quality assurance program. At Tyne Engineering, all critical characteristics of the CGI are identified and their acceptability is verified via stringent inspections, tests and analyses, thus rendering the CGI qualified to meet nuclear standards.
